20 Years of JANTAMINIAU
Back in 2009, Jan debuted a memorable collection during his graduation at the Art and Design Academy in Arnhem. It was all about exploring his Dutch identity.
As we celebrate his 20 years of career, Jan revisits these past icons, breathing new life into them.
From the return of his iconic clips to the revival of distinctive silhouettes and patterns, every piece reflects a timeless elegance and thoughtful craftsmanship.
2004
The Postzak Collection
This collection marks the beginning of Jan's creative career as a renowned designer. He transformed the old Dutch letter carrier's bags into iconic pieces such as the Postbag Jacket.
2005
The Empire Collection
An experimental and romantic collection. Jan experiments with pattern making and recycled materials to create feminine and light dresses.
2006
The 1234 Collection
A true celebration of Dutch culture and icons that have shaped Jan's creative spirit. A theatrical collection that plays with volumes and textures to tell his personal story.
2007
The Follies Collection
With this collection Jan was nominated for the Dutch Fashion Foundation Award. In collaboration with the TextielMuseum in Tilburg, Jan brought together both craftsmanship and design in an innovative way.
2008
The Passe Partout Collection
This collection brings together impossible shapes and an intricate embroidery, made from metals of an old chandelier, seamlessly blending history and innovation.
2009
The Duality Collection
On one of his trips to China, Jan found old imperial fabrics and gave them a new life with a renewed and modern spirit by infusing timeless techniques with a contemporary flair.

20 years of history dedicated to Couture, Jan's creative mind has imagined designs that celebrate the woman's body, playing with textures silhouettes and patterns to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces.
ABOUT JAN
Jan Taminiau (1975, Goirle) is one of the most exclusive and successful Dutch couturiers. Now he is based in Madrid, Spain with a couture atelier in Lagasca 90 Street.
Jan graduated Cum Laude from the prestigious fashion design program at ArtEZ in Arnhem NL. His creativity earned him apprenticeships and positions at Olivier Theyskens, Oscar Suleyman, master corsetier Hubert Barrere and renowned lace maker Hurel. In 2001 Taminiau presented Unfolding, his master’s project, during Paris Fashion Week which earned him a window exhibition at Colette in Paris. His namesake brand, JANTAMINIAU, was launched soon after in 2004. In 2014, Jan Taminiau received the ‘Grand Seigneur’, the most prestigious fashion award in the Netherlands.
The story continues
In 2018, the Centraal Museum Utrecht presented a major solo exhibition of Taminiau’s work, which resulted in the most visited exhibition in the museum’s history. In 2004 Jan Taminiau launched his own independent label JANTAMINIAU. From 2007 to 2010 JANTAMINIAU was presented in Paris during Haute Couture week. It was during this time that The Netherlands Queen Maxima wore JANTAMINIAU for the first time and she has remained a supporter and client ever since.
Along with her, many other women have chosen JANTAMINIAU Couture to turn into unforgettable moments, those to be remembered and whose memory will always remain reflected in that special piece.
