Inspired by a 1950s pose where the woman’s shoulders were pushed forward, Jan became fascinated with highlighting the shoulders rather than the usual focus on the bust or hips. For Reflections, he emphasized the shoulders using a range of techniques, from soft, curved shapes to sharper, pointier ones.
